Unfinished Women's Ministry is an online (via Zoom) Christian inductive Bible study. We will be studying from the book “All the Women of the Bible” by Herbert Lockyer. The Bibles used in this study are NKJV or NIV. Salvation is a prerequisite for the Unfinished Women's Ministry.
Times: 5:00 PM (Pacific), 7:00 PM (Central), 8:00 PM (Eastern).
Our fifth season will begin on Monday, January 5, 2026. We finished last season with the book of Esther. Each member took a chapter and reported on it weekly. Great Season!
This season starts with Job's wife. We will be reading Chapters 1 and 2. As we study Job's wife, let's remember to ask the five W’s and an H’s about the scripture: Who? What? When? Where? Why? and How?
1. Who is speaking?
2. What is happening?
3. When is it happening?
4. Where will it happen?
5. Why was this said or done, and what were the consequences?
6. How did it happen?
7. How was it to be done? Etc.
Join us as we continue our study of named and unnamed women in the bible.

Monday, April 27, 2026 - Meeting Notes
Attendees: Jan, LaWanda, and Brenda
Prayer: Pastor
Herodias (Matthew 14:1-11) was married to Herod’s brother, Philip. Her sin was the unlawful adulterous marriage to her uncle, while her husband was still alive. This violated Leviticus 18:16. She committed a grave sin by harboring a deep, murderous grudge against John the Baptist for condemning this union. She didn’t have a mother-daughter relationship with her daughter. She was one evil woman who hated John the Baptist.
Daughter of Herodias
Salome was a Jewish princess, the daughter of Herod II and Princess Herodias. She was a Herodian princess, famously known for dancing before Herod Antipas and requesting the head of John the Baptist on a platter. While unnamed in the Bible, she is identified by the historian Flavius Josephus.
Women and children among the 5,000. Matthew 14:21
With Jesus, women were not excluded; Jesus fed everyone.
Women and children among the 4,000 (Matthew 15:38)
Matthew 15:38 (“Those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children”) signifies Jesus’ compassion, divine power, and ability to abundantly provide for both physical and spiritual needs. It highlights the feeding of a largely Gentile crowd, demonstrating that Jesus' ministry was for all people, not just Jewish people.
Syrophoenician woman (Matthew 15:21-28, Mark 7:24-30)
Also known as a Canaanite, a Gentile. She had no right to ask Jesus for anything. Jews didn’t like Canaanites.
Canaanites called out to the Lord, son of David. She went to Jesus, just as she was. She had faith. As long as you know who He is, and you call Him Lord, you are healed whether you are a Jew or not. She knew Jesus was a healer, “I’ll take the crumbs.”
The lineage of King David was Joseph, the stepfather of Joseph. Mary was a Jewish female, so she was not in the lineage of Jesus. But she was chosen by God to be the chosen ONE. The father of Jesus is God, the stepfather of Jesus is Joseph.
As humans, we can procreate to a certain degree, producing the flesh, mind, and soul of man, Male or Female human being. But only God can create and give the Holy Spirit, His Spirit, to man.
Mother of Zebedee’s Children (John & James ’ mother. Was she Mary’s sister (Salome)?
Salome - Matthew 20:21-23. The right or left hand was flesh. (She was in the flesh). Be careful what you ask for.
The woman who anointed Jesus (Matthew 26:6-13). Matthew was written for the Jews, to the Jews. (What started as Hebrews, Israelites, children of Abraham, etc.). Jesus was a Jew. Because of His earthly father, Joseph, and the Jewish tradition. Peter wrote the Book of Mark, and Doctor Luke wrote the books of Luke and Acts. John was written for us believers. “I believe that.”
Mark 14:3-9 - The woman (Mary, the sister of Martha) was not mentioned.
We discussed a new book to study from - Jesus & Women by Kristi McLelland. I ordered mine on Amazon. The book includes a 7-week online study.
Here is the introduction:
Every adventure begins in a moment, and the best ones come to us. In 2007, an adventure found me. The Lord opened the door for me to go study the Bible in Egypt and Israel. At the time, I was teaching Bible in the Biblical Studies department at Williamson College. I went to the Middle East in a spirit of professional development, just to learn, but God had other plans—much better plans. In Israel, I was amazed to see how different the Middle Eastern culture was and is from our Western culture. I started noticing how I was approaching the Bible as a Westerner, seeing it with Western eyes and asking Western questions of the biblical text. In Israel, I learned the Bible through a cultural lens, the Middle Eastern lens. In these early days of my Middle Eastern study, God totally and thoroughly wrecked me in the best of ways. He completely transformed me. Learning the Bible in its original historical, cultural, linguistic, and geographic context allowed me to get to know Jesus in His Jewish world. I didn’t just fly over to Israel; it felt almost as if I went back in time to learn about the first-century world of the Bible, the world Jesus lived in two thousand years ago.
We will start this study when we return in September.
Upcoming Women
Damsel to whom Peter denied Christ (Matt 26:69; Mark 14:66- 68; John 18: 17)
Maid to whom Peter denied Christ (Matt 26:71: Mark 14: 69-70; Luke 22:56-57)
Wife of Pontius Pilate ( Matt 27:19)
Many women beholding a far off (Matt 27:55-56; mark 15: 40-41)
Mary Magdalene (Matt 27:57, 61; Matt 28:1-10; Mark 15: 40-41,47; 16: 1-8, 9-11; Luke

Monday, April 20, 2026 - Meeting Notes
Attendees: LaWanda, Linda, and Brenda
Opening Prayer: LaWanda
The meeting started with answering the 5 Ws and How about Mary.
Luke 2:25 (NIV) introduces Simeon, a righteous and devout man in Jerusalem awaiting the "consolation of Israel" (the Messiah). Empowered by the Holy Spirit, he serves as a witness to Jesus' arrival, highlighting themes of faithful waiting, divine promise, and the Holy Spirit's guidance.
We discussed Anna, the prophetess, Luke 2:36. Luke 2:36 introduces Anna, a prophetess, daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher, who was very old. She lived with her husband for seven years, then remained a widow for 84 years, dedicating her life to fasting, prayer, and worshiping in the Temple, where she praised God upon seeing the infant Jesus. Anna and Simeon lived to see the prophetic passage found in Isaiah 11:19 come to fruition.
Jesus had 6 siblings, James, Judas, Joseph, and Simon were his brothers. He also had sisters, but they are not named.
Peter’s Mother-in-Law (Nameless). Matthew 8:14-15. Jesus healed her.
Daughter of Jarius - Mathew 9:18-19, 23-26. Jesus heals the daughter of a synagogue, Jarius. The detailed story is found in Mark 5:35-43.
Jesus didn’t allow all the disciples to follow Him to every place. Most of the time, he only took Peter, James, and John. There were times he went alone. (John 4: the woman at the well) . Peter, James, and John were followers. You can’t follow and obey if you don’t believe. Jesus needed like-minded followers. They did not understand and believe until John 16:29-30.
Woman with Issue of Blood (Mark 5:25-34)
Detailed information from our book, All Women of the Bible, page 221. She had a “straight way” to Jesus. She was commended for her faith. Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 - we are healed by faith.
We see Jesus as a husband, a doctor, and a healer. God loves females, his daughters. Women are seen and treated differently in the New Testament. Women are important in procreation. God used the female, not the male, for the bringing forth of His Son. God is a spirit but became a human, male, through the creation of woman, female. Jesus lets us know how important we are through God’s creation. Genesis 2, she ate, and then he ate. Both had to eat for the process of sin to be completed. Half of a man can not produce by itself. It must be male and female.
Sisters of Christ - mentioned in Matthew 13:56 and Mark 6:3, but no names.
Good meeting.
Upcoming Women
Herodias (Matt. 14: 1-11; Mark 6:17-28; Luke 3:19-20)
Herodias’ daughter (Matt 14:6-11; Mark: 6: 22-29; Luke 3:19-20)
Women and children among the 5,000 (Matt 14:21)
Women and children among the 4,000 (Matt 15:38)
Syrophenician woman (also called the Woman of Canaan) (Matt 15:21-28, Mark 7:24-30)
Linda prayed us out.

Attendees: Vonetta, Xaviere, Jan, and Brenda
Prayer: Brenda
Scriptures: Psalm 34:4-6, 15, 18, and 22
The winner of the 2026 Hearts of Quilts is Janese. Congratulations Janese.
Please keep LaWanda and family lifted in prayer. Her uncle passed away.
Read from the All the Women of the Bible book. This book represents Mary differently.
Mary (a Hebrew woman) is named in Jesus’ genealogy.
What was your intake of Mary in the KJV?
We talked about who Joseph was. A child takes on its father's race. Joseph was not the father of Jesus.
In the book of Luke, Mary was a Hebrew. The father of Jesus was not a male.
Genesis 1:26-31, He could take a male and procreate; males can not procreate without a female.
The book of Matthew gives Joseph a lot of credit, but not Mary. Mary gets credit for being blessed and special. The only way God could come down and experience what a male experiences in procreation. Not knocking the man, but if not for the love of God, we would have no salvation.
In reading, Eve ate the fruit, and nothing happened until Adam ate the fruit. Male and female make a whole as represented by the triangle. To procreate, it takes two. A process that we are able to do.
Mary was chosen as a young girl.
God loves and cares about us. God is a spirit. We are made in His image, body, flesh, and blood. We believe in God, so we are spiritually alive, born again, on another level.
Xaviere: He sounded uncertain until the angel appeared. Didn’t he question it?
Not knocking Joseph, he was a godly man. When an angel appeared, God had a plan for us. He does not fail. If we believe, then we believe the angel appeared. The Holy Spirit was in Mary. The spirit knows it all.
Joseph took Mary home and didn’t question God.
Xaviere: Didn’t he question it? Matthew Chapter 1:18. Humanly, he wanted to back out. He paused (the flesh).
When Charles asked you to marry him, you were married in the eyes of God and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Xaviere: I thought we had to exchange vows, man’s law.
When you said yes, you were already married in the eyes of God.
Before the law was written, when they were in the garden, Adam and Eve were spiritually alive.
Good discussion on marriage. When you are born again and asked to marry, your marriage is sealed in the eyes of God as soon as you are asked.
Folks say Joseph was a godly man; he loved the Lord. Religion can mess you up. Men and women have roles. In a lot of cultures, Hebrew law.
Mary was told about the birth of the Savior of the world. She didn’t understand it at the time. The relationship between Mary and Elizabeth, Elizabeth was in the Levi chain. Mary was young and following an angel. If God brought them out of wars, He will continue to bring us out of wars.
The world has been lost since Genesis Chapter 2. In Chapter 1, it was created as God wanted it. Chapter 2 is deceitful, temptation, and lies.
Mary goes to visit her cousin, Elizabeth. They were both pregnant. The baby inside Elizabeth received the Holy Spirit. (John the Baptist). Luke 1:39-56. John the Baptist was born spiritually alive.
New Testament women are different, Mary & Elizabeth. The law does not apply in the New Testament. Jesus came to "fulfill the Law and the Prophets.” The only law that Jesus commands is to love God with all of your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-39.
There is a Savior. Mary and Elizabeth were divinely chosen. We were all sent by God. We don’t need man’s approval; we need God’s approval. Read the book of Luke.
Questions for next week:
What happens when the Son becomes Lord? When did it happen? When did Jesus become His mother’s Lord and Savior? When did she stop calling Him son? Let the Holy Spirit talk to you.
Good meeting!
Jan prayed us out.

Monday, March 9, 2026 - Meeting Notes (Recording from Zoom Meeting)
The group discussed Matthew 18, focusing on themes of compassion, humility, forgiveness, and release. They explored how the scripture applies to personal growth, church discipline, and handling conflicts within the faith community. The participants shared personal reflections on the passage, including its relevance to overcoming addiction, dealing with church-related issues, and the importance of following God's guidance. They emphasized the need for Christians to live out these teachings in their daily lives and to trust in God's provision. The conversation ended with a prayer for continued spiritual growth and strength.
The group discussed sharing meeting notes, with Xaviere successfully sending notes to Vonetta. They then focused on reading and discussing Matthew 18, where Xaviere shared her initial insights of "almighty" and "faithful," while Vonetta added "forgiveness," and the group identified themes of compassion, humility, and forgiveness from the chapter. The discussion shifted to specific verses about humility and welcoming children, with the group examining Jesus's teachings about becoming like little children to enter the kingdom of heaven.
The group discussed a biblical passage about disciples asking for favoritism, with Unfinished and Linda explaining how people often focus on religious practices and laws rather than a true relationship with God. They observed that favoritism still exists in modern churches, where positions are sometimes based on wealth or personal connections rather than spiritual calling. The discussion highlighted the importance of humility, obedience, and genuine dependence on God, with Xaviere adding that children naturally demonstrate these qualities through forgiveness and obedience.
The group discussed biblical teachings, focusing on Jesus's message about removing stumbling blocks and causing others to sin. Linda explained that certain church programs or practices could become stumbling blocks if they create pressure or financial burden on congregation members, particularly when they don't align with God's word. The discussion centered on interpreting Jesus's advice to "cut off" harmful behaviors as a serious warning about removing spiritual obstacles, with Xaviere and Linda agreeing it represents the gravity of causing others to stumble in their faith journey.
Unfinished discussed the importance of trusting God to meet one's needs rather than relying on material things or programs like Celebrate Recovery. She shared her personal experience with sobriety and ministry work, emphasizing that God will provide opportunities when He wants something done. The conversation also touched on the biblical concept of guardian angels and their role in protecting and guiding people throughout their lives.
The group discussed biblical teachings, focusing on the parable of the lost sheep and the importance of angels as spiritual guardians. One participant shared a personal story about experiencing a spiritual awakening and being guided back to faith. The discussion then shifted to Matthew's teachings about resolving conflicts between believers, with participants debating how to approach confronting someone about their sins, emphasizing the importance of doing so in love rather than with judgment.
The meeting focused on discussing Matthew 18 and its application to addressing sin and forgiveness within church communities. The participants, including Linda and Unfinished, explored how churches sometimes fail to properly address moral issues, with Unfinished emphasizing the importance of following Matthew 18's instructions for confronting sin and the need to forgive others multiple times. The discussion concluded with prayer and updates about members' health, including Rock's hospitalization for urinary tract issues and Miss Lucy's recovery from infection.

Linda’s Healthy Tips
Colorectal Cancer
This is colorectal cancer awareness month. A common deadly cancer that is preventable. At age 50 get a screening. The new age is now 45. The second leading cause of cancer death in the United States.
If caught early, it can be cured with screening.
Symptoms:
You have 91% chance of surviving rate if caught early. Only 13-16% if it spreads. Early screening is important.
Things to do:
Encourage everyone to get screened at age 40.
Family history of colorectal cancer is a very important factor, and you need screening.

Comparing the relationship of Adam/Eve to Mary/Joseph. Was it love or lust?
Did Adam & Eve have a spiritual or physical relationship?
What was their relationship?
Xaviere: Attracted - he thought she was beautiful.
In Chapter 1, they were created in the image of God. In Chapter 2, they were created in the image of man.
Chapter 1 was spiritual (given instructions and had a purpose).
Chapter 2: When he saw her, she was beautiful.
Was it love or lust when he saw her?
Genesis 2:23 - created in the image, but in 2 he had flesh and bones.
God is spirit.
Did she say this because she was different? Is this love? No, he was automatically drawn to her. Perfection or imperfection.
Linda - sexual attraction. Procreate has to have sexual attraction. We are at “lust”. God created them with love. In Chapter 2, it was lust Adam had for Eve. Was Adam listening to the spirit or looking for something else?
Mary and Joseph were influenced by an angel.
Relationship with Eve in Chapter 2: Did she receive the spirit? Was she spiritually alive? Does that sound like love or lust?
Xaviere - He who finds a wife, finds a good thing (Proverbs 18:22) . Natural to be attracted to the opposite.
There is a difference between love of God and man’s lust.
Xaviere - attraction can be natural.
Linda - be fruitful and multiply, must be natural. They were equal in Chapter 1. In Chapter 2, Adam is over her.
Sin came in Chapter 2 - the creation of man's being. Sin came into a perfect garden. He messed with their mind and emotions.
Chapter 2 - attraction of man. Chapter 1 God gave them free will.
Suggestions started to change everything. Sin happened in 2. (Adam was not alone; God gave him a woman, and Adam was no longer seeking God.) God told them to stay away from the fruit. They were not seeking the Lord.
Power and authority to cast it out. Spiritually alive. Chapter 2 was not about love. Adam had no love for Eve. They started calling on the Lord again in Genesis 2:5, after Seth was born.
The man threw the woman under the bus.
We do hear Eve calling out to the Lord. Did Adam show love for Eve, Seth, or Cain? Dysfunctional family.
LaWanda - this is something I struggle with. We have the power to change it. It does not have to be like that. Don’t have to repeat history.
When we studied Tamar, compare the Word of God we’ve studied.
Linda - Genesis 24: This line is out of order, as there was no mother or father.
Pastor: We have to look at it as more of a lust than a love. I see it when we got to Joseph and Mary. I saw the love of Joseph. During the Hebrew lifestyle, Joseph is the first man to show love.
Xaviere - He showed concern.
LaWanda - what do you think of Joseph? Our love today is different. They were arranged to marry. Traditions and rules, no love, just a love slave.
Hebrew men who didn’t lust but loved their women.
Linda - Jacob loved Rachael. He felt he loved her. He couldn’t get with her because of traditions. She was the younger sister.
Agree with LaWanda - were they required to love each other?
Joseph knew the love of God. That is the difference. When we have the love of God, we look for different characteristics of God. Our husbands love God.
Hebrew religion, the law. Culture and mannerism. Leviticus is not God’s law. God’s law is the 10 Commandments.
Joseph started running for the child (Jesus) and his wife.
Herod and his sons made their own laws. Everyone was burdened with them. Joseph loved the Lord and was God-fearing. He knew she would be shamed or stoned. He showed love. Matthew 2 is love. Joseph listened to God.
Re-read Matthew 2:18-24.
Linda - no relationship between God and man, no love between man and wife. Joseph loved Mary.
Pastor: Faith like Mary, look for that kind of man - a man like Joseph.
Xaviere prayed us out.

Healthy Tips by Linda
Diabetes
There are 2 types of diabetes: type 1 and type 2. Most people have type 2 diabetes. Type 1 is insulin-dependent.
Risk factors: high blood pressure and pre-diabetes. A high risk factor is genetics.
Symptoms can occur slowly over time. They include: thirst, going to the bathroom often, weight loss, fatigue, blurred vision, vaginal infections, and darken skin in the armpits and back of neck.
Diabetes is dangerous and can affect blood vessels. Increased risk for heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure.
Diagnosed by blood sugar count of 130 or 140, which should be 80-110, and a glucose tolerance test.
A1c - less than 5.7 or less is the normal range. Borderline is 5.7 - 6.4.
An A1c of 7.0 or less tells your blood sugar count over 3 months. A1c is important.
Check blood sugar regularly, every morning.
Treatment for type 2: pills. Type 1 users use insulin.
You also need to control carb intake. Check with your nutritionist for a proper diet.

Keep Jan and LaWanda lifted in prayer. Jan has back pain. LaWanda and her daughter are spending quality time together.
Remember the three women: Dinah (Daughter of Jacob), Tamar (Daughter-in-law of Judah), and Tamar (Daughter of David). All three are daughters of great men.
David didn’t do anything to his son after Tamar was raped. Father and son relationship.
Were sons more valuable than daughters?
Linda - Yes. Daughters didn’t get inheritances, and they were given away for riches.
Pastor - Tamar (Daughter-in-law of Judah) was not a Hebrew woman. Tamar was the Canaanite daughter-in-law of Judah (son of Jacob) who, after being widowed by Judah's first two sons (Er and Onan) and denied marriage to the third (Shelah), disguised herself as a prostitute to conceive a child by her father-in-law. She is noted for her courage and righteousness in securing her lineage, eventually bearing twins, Perez and Zerah, becoming a direct ancestor in the line of King David and Jesus Christ. (Genesis 38).
If she didn’t have a husband, she would be cast out. She took it on herself to correct the problem. She was intelligent and knew God.
Linda - She got pregnant by her father-in-law. She couldn’t marry 3 sons. She was treated like a second-class citizen. Judah was outsmarted.
He was wrong in the eyes of God. Tamar knew our God. The magic of it all, Matthew 1, in the genealogy, Judah is listed. Rahab is also listed.
Who was Rahab? She was not a Hebrew. She was a prostitute. Her name is in the genealogy of Jesus. When Jacob sent spies, she helped the spies. She knew God, stating I heard about the red sea - remember me when you win the battle and they did.
Rahab was a Canaanite prostitute living in Jericho who played a pivotal role in the Israelite conquest of the city (Joshua 2). By hiding two Hebrew spies and lying to her king, she demonstrated faith in God and ensured her family's safety, famously marking her home with a scarlet cord. Despite her past, she was redeemed, integrated into Israel, and became a matriarch in the genealogy of Jesus Christ.
She was the wife of Salmon, mother of Boaz, and the great-great-grandmother of David. She knew the Lord.
If we lift God as a mighty God who can do all things, your past does not matter.
How could you hear about God and not honor Him?
Ruth was a Moabite. She heard about the love of God. Naomi gave up on God. Ruth believed everything would be okay. Ruth is in the genealogy.
None of the women was a Hebrew woman.
Bathsheba’s husband was a Hittite. Haggar, Rachael, and Leah were not Hebrew. No Hebrew women, only the ones that believed in God.
Blood of Jesus Christ, we are spiritually born.
Genealogy is in Matthew 1.
We know women in the Bible who worshipped men and husbands, but not God.
Who else was a believer?
Xaviere - Haggar believed in God.
Do you think Sarah knew God and had a relationship with God?
Linda - No, not in the beginning. Not until she had a baby.
Another woman, Rebecca, was a believer in God. Wife of Abraham's son (Isaac). They had twins. Did she have relatioship with God?
Linda - No, she was manipulative. She went to Issac’s God, didn’t like it, and tried to change it.
The Old Testament is saying this is not what God wants. He doesn’t want anything to go before Him. God says trust me. Worship me first.
Introduction Genealogy - Matthew 1
Was Mary a Hebrew woman? We will find out.
Linda read Matthew 1.
It took 42 generations to get here. We could have gotten here sooner if they believed and followed God. They began to follow God again after the birth of Seth.
Reading about Mary.
Three women were raped by different men.
When you became a woman, you were betrothed to a man as a young girl.
How old was Mary? Was she at age to be handed over to Joseph?
Linda - About 12 years old.
Introducing Mary, a 12-year-old betrothed to Joseph.
In one religion, children are not taught about sex. Her daughter got pregnant. She said it was an angel. The truth came out, and there was no angel. Incorrect teaching brings incorrect behavior.
Linda - In Deuteronomy 22, the young virgin age. Doesn’t say the age to get married.
All the women in Bethlehem, they couldn’t find an older woman to marry.
Linda - A young girl was seduced by an old man. This happened in our time. They got married and had two kids. Did she love him?
We have to be careful about this kind of teaching for young women. So many cultures do this. The Holy Spirit gives us revelation. Different cultures even here today. Betrothed to someone at an early age. It’s not okay. What about love?
Linda prayed us out.
Next week, we will be talking about Mary. She’s going to go through a lot. Use Mary as an example, as a 12-year-old.

Opening Prayer - Pastor
Scripture - Brenda, Psalm 37:1-3
Healthy Tips by Linda
February is Heart Awareness Month - celebrated to show support for heart awareness. You can speak at church on any Sunday to share awareness.
Heart attacks kill one in three women. Sometimes there are no signs. It is hard to get diagnosed. High blood pressure, smoking, high cholesterol, high blood sugar, obesity, and stress raise the risk of a heart attack. Causes - a change in hormones and lupus can cause heart disease.
If you think you might be having a heart attack - call 911. If you are walking and have shortness of breath, get it checked out.
Things you can do: Exercise 30 minutes a day. Know what your blood pressure is. Cook at home to watch your sodium intake. Maintain a healthy weight. Control cholesterol. Eat healthy and manage stress.
__________
3 THINGS WE NEED TO DO TO CONTINUE TO STAY FREE.
What are the characteristics of God?
Brenda - God is a spirit, not a he or she.
LaWanda - Trust God, the Word of God. Obey God’s Word. Our God is forgiving.
Believe in the Mandate. Love, worship, and praise God. Put no other God in front of God. He gets the glory.
Linda - I am made in God’s image. Not perfect - we have a connection with Him. We have to know we are important.
In Genesis, Chapter 2, the woman was created for man. In Chapter 1, they were created equally and in the image of God.
LaWanda - we are made in His image. He gave male & female dominion over everything. Our purpose is to please God.
Revelation 4:11 - He is worthy to be praised.
What is the difference between Eve and Cain’s wife? Eve and Lamech’s two wives? (Genesis 3 & 4).
Linda - Eve was the mother of all living things. She was blamed for sins. She had a relationship with God and thanked God for her son, Seth. Enoch means dedicated. Eve got closer to God and taught her son about God. Seth affected all mankind. Both males and females began to worship God.
Eve & Lamech’s wife did not have a voice.
Polygyny leads to the degradation of women. Men were competing. Example: Cain and his grandson, Lamech.
Was Eve a woman who believed in and was blessed by God? (yes or no) Why?
Yes, Eve was spiritually alive in Chapter 1. Chapter 1 is the creation of divine perfection. In Chapter 2, God made a helpmate for man. He took a rib bone and made a woman. Genesis 2 is the creation of temptation and deceit.
In Chapter 2, God breathed the breath (spirit) into the male, not into the female. This should make religious people stop and think.
What is or is there a difference between Sarah and Haggar?
Brenda - they both served their master (husband) and not God.
God talked to them both. Not just the man (remember the mandate).
In Chapter 2, the spirit of God was breathed into the male. It was not breathed to the female. Most religions are set up in that order. Making the male superior to the female. It is a lie. They are created equally.
Haggar had heard of God in her learning. Haggar was Egyptian, and Sarah was Hebrew.
LaWanda - Sarah was a symbol of faith. She had faith when the child was born.
Were they under the punishment, or were they cursed?
Was it a curse or a punishment? Disobedience to God is a punishment.
The land was cursed. God does not curse us. We have a good understanding - these women were spiritually dead.
What is Genesis 4:25-26 saying to you? There was a relationship between God and Eve. Adam, we never heard him say anything else.
We are ready to enter the New Testament.
The Spirit of God is with them. 450 years - people in captivity.
New Testament
LaWanda read the Introduction to Matthew.
God’s promise made to David - David was a man with a heart for God.
God is a forgiving God. He will do the same thing for us.
When we read about Mary, 450 years ago, Jewish law. It had been prophesied that the Savior was coming. How did they think He would be born?
Need the Holy Spirit. Know the Holy Spirit when he speaks.
LaWanda prayed us out.
Next week - Read Matthew 1-3.
What happened to these women?
Judah's daughter-in-law, Tamar
David’s daughter, Tamar
Jacob’s daughter, Dinah

Linda’s Healthy Tips (New)
New Year's Resolutions
Most focus on health or personal growth. If your resolution is losing weight, you should focus on losing 5 pounds instead of 50 pounds.
I like cake, and I eat it during the holidays. After the holidays, I don’t cook cake and cut back on junk food. I focus on eating healthy. Don’t deprive yourself.
I use the air fryer for fish, chicken, biscuits, fries (real potatoes, seasoned and with a small amount of oil), hamburgers, and pork chops. But I fry my catfish.
If you deprive yourself too much, you will not reach your goal. If you mess up, just start over again.
I weigh at the beginning of the week. This works for me.
Drink more water. Eating out - cut down sodium intake. Sodium holds water.
Exercise - try 15 minutes on the first day and increase to 30 minutes per day. Be realistic. Don’t set high expectations - start small and build up.

What does Proverbs 31 mean to you? Is she real? Mother wants for her child. Are we being taught wrong? What is a virtuous woman?
Linda - From the red book (All the Women of the Bible, page 270), she is an Ideal woman.
What type of son did the mother have?
Xaviere - A guide to what to look for. He was involved with a lot of stuff.
Pastor - He is already a king. Him telling what his mother told him. Like most kings in the Old Testament. It could be he was talking to a woman.
Understand what is going on here. What is the king talking about?
Linda - Vs 3, they blame the woman for what’s bad—a worldly woman and a virtuous woman, exactly opposites. Advise on what is right to do.
Pastor - Most kings had more than one woman. It was not a whole lot of kings. It was mainly God as king. They decided they wanted a king. Saul was a womanizer. Solomon, his son, was no better. (That split the nation).
What type of king is Lemuel? Read vs. 1-9. What is it saying?
Jan - The king is not to drink wine, his mom told him that.
LaWanda - Don’t spend your time on worldly women.
Jan - There is no such thing as a virtuous woman. It’s wisdom. We try to tell our kids what not to do.
Esther had a drunk king.
Sandra - Vs 8 and 9, don’t get caught up in wrong things. Scripture, “He who rules over many must be just.” 2 Samuel 23:3
We are witnessing this now. We have seen what wine and drugs can do to a righteous man.
Vs 8 and 9 are virtuous.
Pastor - Go to your book and read page 271.
Jan - We work toward being a virtuous woman. There is no perfect woman.
Pastor - We have to stick with the mandate. "Far more valuable than rubies" - women in church trying to outdo each other. She had servants who did everything. Superwoman, working constantly. Husband respected at the city gate - is he speaking of the needy?
Linda - You are strong in who you are. Virtuous means showing high moral standards.
Jan - Light of the world.
Pastor - What we are is in Genesis 1:26, made in the image of God.
Linda - Moral standards.
Pastor - I’m dealing with spiritual standards. If I am born again, I’m in the New Testament. Man and woman - we all have to be whole, born in the spirit. You have to stand before God yourself.
Jan - Wisdom in God, not a person.
Pastor - It’s an oracle.
Xaviere - Depends on how you like the stigma of the word. Word standard. This group is not virtuous women.
Jan - An analysis, a mirror to show us Godly wisdom of Christ. As believers, you can’t live any other way but to please God. We are working to be like Christ. He is coming back for the church. We are made in Christ’s image.
Linda - Vs 10, this doesn’t exist. Moma dreamed her up.
Pastor - Work in progress. Who can find one - nobody.
The definition of 'virtuous' is 'high moral standards.' Live by His standards. Vs 10 is a question.
We live by God's standards.
Xaviere - I am learning what it means now as an adult.
Sandra - We can’t get trapped in words. Proverbs 31: True worth comes from character, faith, and how you serve others, not from looks, status, or applause.
Proverbs 31 wasn't written to women - it was written about one. King Lemuel's mother wrote a poem describing wisdom personified as a woman.
This was not a divine checklist nor a daily job description we are supposed to exhaust ourselves trying to become or measure ourselves up to.
We are not missing God, nor behind on time, nor failing because we don't look like a poem. It is not required for all Christian women to be businesswomen, a flawless wife, or a philanthropist. We measure ourselves by what the Word says about us. May we continue to celebrate wisdom, integrity, strength, care for others, and above all, fear of God (reverence). Whatever season of life you find yourself in, continue to grow from height to height as we strive to meet full maturity.
Pastor prayed us out.
Good Study!
Pastor - I am a sinner saved by Grace. God has given me a chance to start over.

Monday, January 19, 2026 - Meeting Notes
Attendees: LaWanda, Jan, Linda, Brenda
Prayer - LaWanda
Scripture: Psalm 1:1-3
1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
3
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.
We are going to move into the New Testament.
Brenda read meeting notes from Jan. 12.
Pastor - I think it is a wakening to deal with Job as Job. What did you get from Job? I have questions. A problem with integrity. In the Old Testament, they were not spiritual. No Holy Spirit to instruct them. Integrity was not like born again.
Linda - I agree with it.
Linda reported on the 3 daughters of Job (the last children). Jemimah, Keziah, and Keren-happuch, known for their exceptional beauty and for receiving inheritance alongside their brothers, which was unusual for the time. Their names signify beauty, fragrance, and adornment, reflecting Job's restoration and blessings after his trials. Jemimah - born after suffering. New life, Job’s life. (Job 42:12)
Significant because only males received inheritance. But the girls got equal parts.
Other women who received inheritances in the Bible that we have studied.
“So the Lord said to him, ‘What Zelophehad’s daughters are saying is right. You must certainly give them property as an inheritance among their father’s relatives and give their father’s inheritance to them.’”(Numbers 27:6-7, NIV)
Nobody worked hard.
What did you learn about Job?
Linda - I focused on Job. He lived in the time of the law. The law was used to dominate women. Job’s wife, the mother, lost all her children. Losing the sons, Job would lose money.
Pastor - How would you feel if you were called a fool? “Give him what He wants, or die.” Man of integrity.
Jan - He had favor with God.
Pastor - What does the mandate say about integrity? Satan got kicked out and was powerful. I don’t see the godly integrity of Job.
Jan - Suffering is a part of God’s way. Galatians.
Pastor - (Galatians) There is no suffering in the spirit of fruit. God didn’t do to Noah what was being done to him.
Jan - Women's Study Bible (NKJ) Galatians 5:22 (long suffering).
Glory of God.
Jan - Job was singled out by God. Undeserved suffering. Job 26:14. The author says God never abandons the suffering.
Linda - Suffering can be an example. We have to depend on the Holy Spirit.
John 14:15 - the counselor is the Spirit of truth.
Important to depend on the Holy Spirit, the infallible word of God.
LaWanda - We humans' understanding of suffering.
Job’s refusal to curse God, regardless of his suffering - he refused to curse God.
The suffering was from satan and not God. God does not want us to suffer.
Linda - His friends thought he had done something wrong.
If there is suffering going on, does God get the glory? God gets the glory for healing those who are suffering. We have that power.
“Come before me bodily.”
We have to get away from the Old Testament and religion and study for ourselves.
Pastor - We have to do Ruth and Naomi, but first, we will go over Proverbs 31 - the virtuous woman.
We read Proverbs 31. This is the woman they always preach about. It’s like Esther the Queen. His Moma is telling him what kind of woman he should have.
Mother to son (Queen Mother to a King).
We will study Proverbs 31 next week. She was rich. Does Moma really want him to find a wife? There is a lot about this woman. We will then go to Jesus.
Jan prayed us out.
Great study!

Monday, January 12, 2026 Meeting Notes
Attendees: LaWanda, Xaviere, Jan, Brenda, and Linda
Opening Prayer - Pastor Jackie - Power in the Name
Traveling Mercy for Linda
LaWanda - Job’s wife was inpatient. She lost her faith. Did she have faith? Very little because if she had faith, she would not have told Job to curse God.
Pastor - Did Job know the mandate?
Where is this woman who lost everything? Her husband was covered in sores. Job 2:9. Blaming it on integrity.
What is integrity?
LaWanda - knowing God is coming through and repaying his loses. Doing what you would do in front of or behind closed doors.
Is that love, law, or lust?
Law is the dos and don’ts of man in the book of Leviticus. Exodus 20 contains the Ten Commandments, which are the laws of God.
Job was an honest man in what he believed. Do his children know him? Does his wife know him?
A man of integrity - all things happened to him. God and satan was at war.
Does integrity mean God-fearing? Can you have integrity without worshiping God?
Is Job the type of man you would be attracted to? Brenda and LaWanda said no.
In Job 1, was Job blameless?
Noah was like Job. Noah wasn’t perfect, but the closest to perfect God could find.
Why didn’t Job’s kids and wife have a relationship with God?
Jan - It was the culture back then. A baby knows right from wrong. You have a sense of right and wrong.
Noah and Job were seeking to do right before God.
Why did he call his wife a fool?
Jan - living a life of holiness and uprightness, reflecting God’s character when no one is watching.
Job had children, and there was a war with satan.
If you are spiritually dead in the Old Testament, you can’t say they are holy because they are not spiritually alive.
Why didn’t God say anything about Job’s wife?
Jan - The Holy Spirit didn’t come until the book of Acts.
Pastor - not one was holy.
Jan - Why did Jesus go to hell and release many folks?
The Holy Spirit was upon the Bible but not in them. Jesus set the captives free.
The Old Testament in our lives does not work anymore. Some women are still seeking a man to bless them and tell them about God.
Integrity - morals and standards sound like religion. We have been taught wrong. Is Job the type of man you would be attracted to?
Jan - I don’t know because if he had favor with God, it was something different about him.
Xaviere - I like a man to show mannerism. I know that’s what you're trying to teach. My husband and I are on the same level; he can do what I can’t do, and I can do what he can’t do. He is a whole, and I am a whole; I feel we are whole together.
The triangle - God is at the top. When man starts talking about integrity, not of God. Reputation is not the same.
What part of Job attracted you? Money, his dress, or status?
Think about the woman he called a fool. Job thought she had lost her mind.
We have to think about what Jesus Would Do.
Jan - Woman Bible - foolish woman. Where does Jesus say don’t call a person a fool? Matthew 5:22.
Jesus defeated satan on the cross. (4 Gospels) Disciples of Christ.
How many women have read the Book of Mary, Jesus’ companion?
Seek the word of Jesus. Satan running things is why the world is in the shape it is. We are looking for love, not law or lust.
Jan - Good to know the Old and New Testament. In the New Testament, we are under grace.
Xaviere - When you make comments, I can’t erase the past. Don’t cast me out because I don’t think like everyone else. I don’t see the Pastor as my mom does. She sees him differently from me. But I can decipher the Word of God.
Man cannot change the truth, but they can add to it. You need the Holy Spirit.
We are learning from the Old Testament, but we are New Testament women.
Genesis 1 and 2 are two distinct accounts of creation. Growth is what it’s all about. He lives on the inside of us.
Xaviere prayed us out.
Pastor asked for Traveling Mercy. We will go back to Naomi and Ruth before we go into the New Testament.

Monday, January 5, 2026 - MEETING NOTES
Attendees: Linda, LaWanda, Janese, Xaviere, Brenda
Opening Prayer - Linda
The Holy Spirit is the teacher, the Spirit of Truth. Inductive Study - the Holy Spirit wants us to ask questions.
Was Job blameless? Let’s find out.
We started with Job Chapter 1.
We are seeing Job, who still sinned. His daughters and sons sinned. We can cleanse ourselves because of Jesus. We are forgiven when we repent.
Linda: He thought he had the power to get God to take care of his children.
We learn obedience is better than sacrifices (burnt offering).
Janese: Job is like parents today who stand up for their children. We have to explain to our children that they know better. You pray for them. We can’t save them.
Chapter 2
Seek the Lord - ask the Holy Spirit to lead you.
